Montserrat is a mountain characterized by its rocky formation and its easily recognizable silhouette that make it one of the icons of Catalonia and essential to visit. 

At the top of Montserrat is the monastery, rebuilt in the 19th century, which houses the image of Our Lady of Montserrat, patron saint of Catalonia and better known as “La Moreneta”. Montserrat has become a major pilgrimage site for Catholics from all over the world.

About the tour

First of all you will arrive at the station of the Montserrat rack railway, the only one still active, to climb to the top of the mountain and contemplate the incredible views.

Once at the top you will start a guided tour that will allow you to have a panoramic view over Montserrat and then start exploring on your own at your leisure. Take the opportunity to visit the abbey of Montserrat and meet the Moreneta, discover the nature, visit its museum, have lunch in its restaurant and finally, see the Escolania de Montserrat, one of the best known choirs in Europe and performing all over the world.

Departures from Barcelona are from Estació del Nord: carrer d’Alí Bei, 80 08013 Barcelona, Platform no. 18. Platform no. 18. It is important to arrive at the departure point 20 minutes before the booked time.
